WEEK 1 ROUND-UP

The league kicked back in with 5 cup matches in the Ken Green Group Stages sponsored by Choice Graphics.

In Group 1 Alton beat Bramshall 2-1. It was a tough game with Alton taking the lead through Dave McNair and Bramshall equalised from a Brandon Alkins penalty. A free kick from sub Sam Pickup was the deciding goal as Alton survived an aerial onslaught by Bramshall in the second half. Man of the match was Joe Redgate.

In Group 2 Marchington beat Tuns 5-0 taking control of the game which saw good displays of passing from both sides with Ryan Metcalfe opening the scoring in the 6th minute from the penalty spot the other scorers were  Will Hepburn(2),  Sam Birks and a own goal. Tuns had the chance to score at 1-0  but their spot kick was saved by Welch. Man of the match was Ryan Metcalfe.

In Group 3 Charlie Bassetts beat Tean Rangers Reserves 2-0 with Jack Kay opening the scoring in the 16th minute. The game was a very close second half and the game was decided in the 80th minute after Lewis Heath scored the winner. A game in which both teams struggled to get into a passing rhythm. Overall the defence and goalkeeper were the reason after a very strong and commanding display from them. Man of the match was Ethan Clarkson.

In Group 4 Oldfields beat Stone Town 12-1 with Jack Jeffrey scoring a double hat trick and the returning Kie Bullock got a hat trick, Charlie Ratcliffe 2 and substitute Matt Redshaw. The score was 8-0 at half time but Stone never gave up hitting the bar 3 times and scored a consolation through Ethan Jones. Man of the match was Charlie Ratcliffe.

In the other Group 4 match Leigh United beat Tean Rangers 4-3 with Will Whitehurst and Adam Knott getting two a piece. Tean scorers were Jordan Degg x 2 and Jack Haylock-Kirkham. Man of the match was Pat Bill. 

This week sees one match on Thursday with Tean Rangers facing Stone Town at Wentlows.
