WEEK 13 ROUND-UP

NOVEMBER 9TH, 2025

Premier Division

Alton FC 3–0 Tean Rangers
Alton FC started the brighter of the two sides and thought they had taken the lead within the opening minutes when Jack Edge ran onto a through ball and lobbed the goalkeeper, only for the assistant referee to raise his flag for offside.
The breakthrough came soon after — and it was a goal worthy of any highlight reel. A long throw was only partially cleared towards the back post, where Hassan produced an acrobatic overhead kick that flew back across the keeper and into the top corner from around 15 yards.
The remainder of the half was evenly contested, with both teams battling on a tight and boggy pitch.
Half-time: Alton FC 1–0 Tean Rangers
Alton made another fast start to the second half and doubled their advantage in the 49th minute. A corner from the right caused chaos in the box, and when the ball was cleared to the edge of the area, Hassan was on hand again to fire it into the top-left corner for his second of the game — another excellent finish.
The heavy pitch made flowing football difficult, and the game entered a quieter spell before Alton wrapped up the scoring on 72 minutes. McNair did superbly to beat his marker down the flank and squared the ball across goal for Dawson to tap home from close range.
Tean continued to battle and came close to a consolation when a deflected effort from the edge of the box struck the post, but Alton held firm to secure a deserved clean sheet and three points.
Full-time: Alton FC 3–0 Tean Rangers

Oldfields 2–2 Tuns
Prior to kick-off, both teams paid their respects on Remembrance Day.
The match began brightly, with both sides playing some attractive football. It was Tuns who broke the deadlock when Charlesworth struck from close range.
Play continued to move end to end, and a long ball from the back was expertly headed on for Roy, who doubled Tuns’ lead with a fine strike from a tight angle.
Oldfields found it difficult to produce their usual flowing football, with Tuns working tirelessly and pressing every loose ball. Eventually, the home side found a way back into the game when the Tuns goalkeeper could only parry a shot, allowing Jeffery to react quickest and sweep the rebound into the net.
Half-time: Oldfields 1–2 Tuns
The second half followed a similar pattern, with chances at both ends. Oldfields drew level when a corner wasn’t cleared, and Harper pounced on the loose ball to make it 2–2.
Both teams pushed hard for a winner, and Oldfields thought they had snatched it when the ball hit the back of the net — only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
In the end, both sides played well, and a draw was probably a fair result.

Division One

Cheadle SMU 6–0 Leigh United
The opening 10 minutes saw both sides taking time to size each other up before SMU created the first real opportunity. Bruce Pell forced a save from the visitors’ goalkeeper — a warning sign of what was to come. Just two minutes later, Pell opened the scoring with a well-placed strike across the keeper and into the corner.
Leigh United struggled to create clear chances, and SMU soon doubled their lead. Pell, heavily involved in the early stages, delivered a fine cross that Matt Goodwin finished neatly into the bottom corner.
A brief flashpoint followed when a late challenge from a visiting player sparked some pushing and shoving; both players involved were cautioned. Further chances fell to Will Dobbie and the lively Goodwin, but SMU went into the break 2–0 ahead.
Half-time: Cheadle SMU 2–0 Leigh United
Leigh United started the second half brightly and created the first chance, though it failed to trouble the target. Will Whitehurst looked the most likely to make something happen for the visitors, but he was often too isolated to cause real problems for the SMU defence.
The hosts put the result beyond doubt in the 64th minute when Povey delivered an excellent cross that Dobbie volleyed home superbly. Dobbie then went on to complete his hat-trick with two more goals inside the final ten minutes, showing great composure and finishing ability.
SMU weren’t done there — with the last kick of the game, Alfie Bonehill added a sixth to round off a dominant display.
It was an entertaining match, played in good spirits, with SMU’s clinical finishing proving the difference.

Bramshall 6–2 Sudbury
Sudbury won the toss and chose to kick off, but they got off to the worst possible start. Attempting to play out from the back, they were punished after just 35 seconds when Elliott Oxkey intercepted a loose pass and calmly slotted home to give Bramshall the perfect start. 1–0 Bramshall.
The early goal fired Sudbury into action, and within minutes they were level. Andy Matthew was left unmarked and tapped in from close range to make it 1–1.
Both sides began to settle and tried to play good football despite the heavy pitch, but it was Bramshall who regained the lead. A well-delivered corner found Josh Ellis unmarked at the back post, and he made no mistake with his finish. 2–1.
Sudbury responded quickly once again. Will Hawkes latched onto a throw-in and placed the ball neatly into the bottom corner to equalise. 2–2.
Bramshall continued to press and created several good chances before the break, but the Sudbury goalkeeper made a number of fine saves, while some poor finishing — particularly from Josh Durbin — kept the scores level.
Half-time: Bramshall 2–2 Sudbury
The second half began in a similar fashion, with Bramshall pushing forward and using the wide areas well. Elliott Oxley continued to cause problems with dangerous crosses into the Sudbury box.
Henry Hymas, who had been quiet for much of the first half, burst into life with a smart one-two with Durbin before calmly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to restore Bramshall’s lead. 3–2.
On 65 minutes, the game changed dramatically when Sudbury’s George Attu was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Matthew Flanagan.
With the man advantage, Bramshall took full control. Josh Ellis scored his second of the match with a well-taken header from close range. 4–2.
Sudbury continued to try and play their football but rarely troubled the Bramshall keeper. The hosts extended their lead when Kieran Coates was on hand to tap into an empty net. 5–2.
Man of the Match Josh Ellis completed his hat-trick in style, firing a stunning effort into the top-right corner from 35 yards out to seal a commanding victory. 6–2.
It was a convincing performance from league leaders Bramshall, who combined strong defending with some excellent finishing.
Full-time: Bramshall 6–2 Sudbury
